Bankruptcy Questions in Cornwall, Ontario

Hi
I am victim of financial fraud.
My advisers told me to go Bankrupt to save myself from troubles.

Now here in Canada I have almost nothing.
I am renting a cheap apartment and my belongings are below $ 6.000

Bankruptcy is costly.
Plus the Bankruptcy will destroy my credit for 7 years.

If I just do not pay some Visa and MC what they can do to me?
They will stigmatize my credit - I know.
But for how long?
If is for less than 7 years maybe would be better just let it go and do nothing.

I never did anything like that all my life.
I am not Canadian.
I know that for Canadian businessmen the bankruptcy is a tool to make profit - I do not even know how, but I heard it.
I am not familiar with this system and that is why I have been victim of fraud.
I desperately ask for advices for I am lost.
Never in my life I did anything like that and I always paid everything to the very last penny.
But here where I am now I just cannot move on.
I pray for help.
