Seek IDEA to use a room in Quebec, Quebec

I am a poor guy.
They threw me out of my place where I lived for 20 years.
Now I have to pay an expensive / contemporary rent.
I cannot make it.
Thanks God in this house now I have an extra room.
So, I got a roommate.

It is not easy thaw to have another guy inside your own home.
I had 3 roommates up to now.
The first was a good guy -- student from Latin America. Good but very little -- he left fast.
The two last guys not only did not pay me but they created me problems on top of everything.
Problems and expenses: they did destroy my things and I needed to change the lock.
Not to mention that I had to clean after them and I needed to call the police for one of them.

I do not want to have another experience like that.
I better be alone until I get one of the houses for the low-income people.
But I am 300 in their list.
And HOW to pay the rent alone?

I am working in restaurants.
My best case scenario -- I MEAN BEST-BEST CASE -- is to win about $ 400 a week for the busy season.
I cannot pay this house with this money.

So, I am posting asking for ideas:
Is there a way to have some extra income from the one extra room BUT without a roommate?

I would be grateful for any idea / suggestion.
